We are a married couple from Hertfordshire, UK, in our mid 40’s, we picked up Maya in Mexico. We had a 10 year plan…. pay the mortgage off, rent the house out and travel the world. That plan would be have been about 8 years away (writing this in Jan 2021).
After losing a parent each, in quick succession in 2019, we decided we wanted more out of life. We both had great careers but worked long hours, often in stressful environments.

Hi, Steve here, I used to work for Mercedes AMG HPP which afforded me the opportunity to work in Formula 1. I worked there for 5 years and during that time I had the privilege to work at races around the world. Yes, a complete dream job! The only down side was my commute, 108 miles round trip every day. I did it for 5 years because I loved my job! We considered moving closer to my work but we lived about half way between our two jobs and we were in a good location for public transport hubs.
After losing my Mum in 2019, it made me stop and think about how short life is and that you only get one chance to live it!
So we decided to bring our plans forward. We have sold almost everything, quit our jobs and got the camper and truck ready. We shipped our rig to Veracruz, east coast Mexico in July 2021.
